Amherst Meals on Wheels, Inc. (AMOW) donated 90 meals to Response to Love Center, 130 Kosciuszko Street in Buffalo, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, to help the Center meet its mission through touching lives of others, providing a variety of compassionate programs, assisting those in need to enable self-sufficiency.
“We are thankful at this time of the year that we can help others meet their mission by providing extra meals,” stated Richard Ellis, Executive Director. “We serve our home bound senior and disabled clients daily throughout Amherst and also realize that there is a need throughout our Western New York Family.”
The hot meals were prepared at the Amherst Center for Senior Services by the Center’s kitchen team and the assistance of AMOW volunteers who also prepared all the cold meals.
When Ellis mentioned the plan to donate meals to one of Amherst Meals on Wheels’ volunteers, Donna Klein, she suggested the Response to Love Center. Klein is a pantry volunteer at the Food Bank and suggested Response as the recipient and said, “We are always looking for help for various programs and services and would appreciate any assistance Amherst Meals on Wheels could give.”
