Dear Friend and Neighbor,

For most of us, preparing nutritious meals is a simple task, yet for many of our homebound senior neighbors and those with disabilities, it is a challenge. Did you know that over 10 million older Americans struggle with hunger each year?

Amherst Meals on Wheels strives to help the elderly and adults with disabilities living in the Town of Amherst by delivering nutritious meals right to their home, so they receive daily nourishment and also maintain their independence.

And, as our dedicated volunteers deliver meals, they provide health and safety checks and some friendly conversation too.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we ask our clients for minimal payment for their meals. Our staff and volunteers operate with the support of Erie County, the Town of Amherst, and through the financial support and donations of goods and services throughout Western New York.

But we need your help, too!

Regardless of one’s ability to pay, no one is turned away.

But in order to cover the costs of preparing meals …
